Have you ever thought that the oils and limescale building up inside your coffee machine end up in the cup of coffee you drink?
Heating water causes limescale to build up, which makes heating take longer and use more electricity. It can even ruin the machine completely.
Limescale also affects the coffee itself – the taste can change significantly, making the coffee bitter, sour or otherwise unpleasant.
